I am Pongpipat Meekaew, a PharmD student🧑🎓 from Walailak University🏫, Southern Thailand🇹🇭, I have witnessed how the region’s rich diversity in culture☪️, language🗣️, and cuisine🍛 directly influences patient counseling🧑⚕️. These unique differences require pharmacists, especially those in community settings, to be adaptable and empathetic communicators😊. It’s essential for community pharmacists to learn from📚, understand, and genuinely connect with the communities they serve, using culturally sensitive and compassionate communication.
Also, one of the major problems in many local communities is widespread use of traditional bolus🌿💊, which may be detrimental to health since it is not controlled. The most effective method of resolving this issue is through primary healthcare🏥, where pharmacists work together with multidisciplinary teams👬 of healthcare professionals in home visits🏡, educating residents, and disseminating information and appropriate medicine use within the community.
