INNOVATIVE PHARMACEUTICAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
Background
Currently, the Pharmacy program is undergoing constant evolution in line with the development of new technologies and their applications in the health sector. Previous studies, such as that of Madrigal (1), provide essential tools to foster new ideas and establish mechanisms for their implementation. Likewise, Lipsman et al. (2) propose the concept of a “University 2.0,” based on the integration of technology through educational websites, teacher training in digital tools, and the use of technological resources that enrich educational practices. Finally, Gómez O. et al. (3) highlight that international mobility to countries with more advanced academic research has allowed students to broaden their vision and gain a more innovative perspective in the field of research.
Objective
To propose key strategies that encourage greater participation and interest among Pharmacy
and Biochemistry students in the field of scientific research.
Methodology
The study will be carried out through a literature review and case analysis of students from a
private university in Peru.
Results
- Implementation of research groups in emerging fields such as pharmaceutical nanotechnology,pharmacogenomics, and the cosmetic industry, among others.
- Integration of new technological tools, such as artificial intelligence, into the program’s curriculum.
- Expansion of student exchange programs to enrich the academic and professional training of future pharmacists.
- Investment in innovative resources to ensure quality education and promote research using advanced technologies.
Impact
To foster research interest among students, shaping professionals capable of contributing new scientific knowledge to the field of Pharmacy and to society as a whole.
Conclusion
Pharmacy and Biochemistry students will become competent professionals, capable of innovating and driving scientific advances through research in various areas of their discipline.
