Imagine if your T cells are taken from blood, then changed in the laboratory and finally given by infusion. that's amazing! I have been to Hemocentro de Ribeirão Preto, Brazil where CAR T-cell therapy was used for first time ever in Latin America and I learned how is used to treat certain blood cancers, mainly advanced refractory lymphoma. Personally, I think such as Pharmacist we need to be constantly learning and focusing on innovative therapies that encompass gene therapy, somatic cell therapy, and tissue-engineered products 😃.
I recommend following the page http://www.hemocentro.fmrp.usp.br/ if you want to take a course or internship with them.
Do you have any experience with advanced therapy medicinal products?
Thank you and keep safe!
